Re: Relative Illumination

Thank-you for asking, Suchana. The experiment is not new, in fact nature offers one for us where windows exist.

As the sun goes down, the illumination on the outside of a window gradually diminishes. If a light is on inside, and one is not blocking the light by standing between the source and the glass, one sees less and less of the outside surroundings, except those that are bright, such as the sun as it sets, the moon or outside lights, and more and more reflection from the inside.

When the sun rises one may enjoy the opposite effect, seeing less reflected for inside and more light coming in from outside.

May you enjoy many sunrise and sunset experiments through the windows of your very own home!

Beverly

Each devoted moment
Prepares a beautiful sunrise
And a fruitful sunset.

As I am reading your kind answer I imagine that nature is around you without any obstacles, Beverly. You are lucky!
In my case I´ll be able to enjoy this experiment at the sunrise for at the sunset I can´t see the sun because of some buildings.

Today it is a cloudy day here and I spent a nice half an hour watching the worldwide athletics in Moncton, Canada. It was good to see so many good runners on a sunny day! I especially liked the number of flowers by the track, a very fragrant championship indeed.

Thank you for this sweet poem and good wishes :)
